Monday Music Monkey Review

PictureHello my bitches, i have had a two week hiatus from reviewing, it has been awesome. I have done nothing but smoke, drink, shoot some pool and have mind blowing sex! I still managed to listen to some great music and today I will be reviewing the one and only Red Hot Chilli Peppers!
The album I am reviewing is Plasma Shaft, yeah!
This album was released just before the massive Blood Sugar Sex Magik album and it is a really raw album and thats why i love it so much. It starts off the the song 'Give It Away' but this is the work in progress version and it absolutely kicks ass!

We then move onto 'If You Have To Ask' and 'Nobody Weird'. Both are great songs especially Nobody Weird which is actually a live version. It is Redi's theme song. I can totally relate to it, something my primate friends have called me my whole life, but guess what I get more pussy than you bitches! Anyway the next track is 'Sikiamikanico' which is just incredible, it is raw, lots of thumping drum beats and massive guitar and vocals that just scream, I love this song.

The next track is 'Breaking The Girl' which slows the album down nicely, the lyrics and the vocals really make this a great song, especially how it builds to the chorus. The we move onto my personal favourite 'Fela's Cock' I love the title, it's unreal when bands just don't give a fuck about radio edits, the song is an instrumental and has agreat guitar riff and some seriously bad ass bass and some major drum frenzy that makes this track un fucking believable.

The next track is 'If You Have To Ask' Friday Night Fever Blister Mix and I actually prefer this mix to the normal version, it is alot rawer and the vibe is so different, check it out!  The last song is 'Soul To Squeeze' which is an unreal way to end the album, what a cool song and great lyrics.

All up I am a huge Chilli Pepper fan and I would rate this album as one of their greatest and to prove that I am totally fucking biased I am giving this 5 shots of whiskey out of 5 and anyone who wants to disagree can SUCK MY KISS!
Till next week Peace out my bitches!

Monday Music Monkey Review

      Picture
Hello my bitches, I hope that you had a great easter, I sure did. I went to that freak show that is the easter show, man it is a mess and so fucking expensive that it made me reminisce about the good old days when a can of coke didn't cost $5 and a pluto pup $5 as well, I mean get the fuck out are you fucking serious, anyway, this got me thinking about good albums that are as good today as when they were first written.
So today I am reviewing the one and only Fleetwood Mac. I am reviewing quite possibly their greatest album ever - Rumours. It was their eleventh album and to me it was one of the best albums in the world, even today it has a magic that still makes it as relevant today as it was when it was released in 1977. It was written at a time when all members relationships were falling apart while this album was being recorded so that each song tells a different story of anguish, joy, pain, confusion, anger, love and all written from the heart.

Let's get into it shall we. The opening track is called "Second Hand News" and it is a song about being unrequited love, it is an amazing song, with great uplifting music yet the lyrics are so potent and raw, I mean who wants to be a second hand lover.

      We then move onto "Dreams" which is a break up song, the music is just awesome, the lyrics are amazing what more can I say. We move onto one of my personal favourites "Never Going Back Again" which is a song about breaking up and walking away. The acoustic guitar is unreal the lyrics like this;
"She broke down and let me in
Made me see where Ive been
      Been down one time
      Been down two times
      Im never going back again"
make this song one of the best songs on the album. we then move onto the song
"Don't Stop" which is a song about being optimistic in the face of adversity and the lyrics
      "Don't stop thinking about tomorrow
Don't stop, it'll soon be here
      It'll be better than before
      Yesterday's gone, yesterday's gone"
I mean this is truly an uplifting song, great beat and sung with real conviction. We then move onto "Go Your Own Way" which is one of my favourite songs ever. Then quite possibly the best song on the whole album is "Songbird"  the piano and raw emotion make this song one of the greatest songs of all time, period.

We then move onto "The Chain"  from the drum beat start to the the guitar, then the singing this song has it all and I especially love the bass on this song and the fact that the whole band singas on this album and who doesn't love a fucking banjo solo!
"You Make Loving Fun" is a more upbeat song that was written about a new boyfriend who makes loving fun after a toxic relationship.

"I Don't Want to Know" has an awesome intro and is just a song that is so catchy and the harmonising is pure musical bliss. The next song "Oh Daddy" is written about the band, the members nicknamed Fleetwood Mac "The Big Daddy"
and it's about drummer Mick Fleetwood, who always had a direction for the band that had an uncanny way of being right this is evident in the lyrics
"Why are right, when I am so wrong"
The last song is "Gold Dust Woman" it is a song about hardships faced in a massive metropolis like Los Angeles, when Stevie moved there, it is an awesome way to end a brilliant album.

Rumours is, simply put, one of the greatest albums ever recorded. It is timeless, ageless and full of so much heart and soul that it is a must have for your collection. I give this album 5 shots of whiskey out of five. Do yourself a favour and add it to your collection today, you will not be disappointed.

      Peace out my bitches!
PS: I know it's Tuesday, but I was recovering on easter monday from the easter show!
