Hello my bitches I am back. I trust you had fun looking at all those wonderful album covers from all the reviews I have done in the past. So it is with wonder that I will review Lisa Mitchell's first album 'Wonder'. This album debut in 2009 and it is still one of the albums that is on heavy rotation for me. I must say that it is still as good as the day I got it. so let's get into it shall we?
The album starts off with the track 'Oh what a beautiful morning' which is an awesome little intro, we then move onto 'Neopolitan Dreams' which is such a cool song with very infectious music definitely one of my favourites.'So Jealous' is another song that has a really cool music score, infectious beat and great vocals.
We then move onto one of my all time favourite songs 'Coin Laundry' a truly awesome song that has all the elements of a classic, great music, great beat and her beautiful voice. 'Clean White Love' has a killer intro and is a good song - great lyrics help this track standout on the album. Next track is 'Pirouette' is a very accomplished song, and her vocals help tell a story in this song, this is always a good sign of great singers, they can tell a story in song.
Another great story is 'Love Letter' you can really feel the emotion in her voice and the haunting music makes this song a great one. 'Oh!Hark!' is more of an upbeat song and is another of my favourites on this album. A seriously cool song. We then move onto the next track 'Red Wine Lips' again her voice is what stands out in this song with it's great piano and lyrics another standout.
We then move onto 'Side Kick' which does have a different feel to it, has a dirty introduction and it has a great beat but it's that voice that does it for me, so pure and beautiful, this song seems to be more upbeat. The next track is 'Stevie' which is OK, just not my favourite.
'Animals is the next track and it is awesome. This song is really catchy and will stay in your head for weeks. Her breathy vocals and awesome lyrics make this song superb. The last track is 'Valium' a slow introduction (hey it is a song about valium) her voice and haunting lyrics make this song something special. Anyway you can check her official facebook page here

I am a huge fan of this great Australian Musician and do yourself a favour and go get her albums, trust me you won't be disappointed. I give this album 4 and a half shots of whiskey out of five, seriously support this great young woman who writes seriously awesome songs and has the most beautiful voice to boot.
